By Angela Porcelli, Publisher July 6, 2019
On Thursday, July 18 New York Times best-selling author Allison Pataki will read her latest book Nelly Takes New York: A Little Girl’s Adventure in New York at the Grinton I. Will Branch of the Yonkers Public Library. Nelly Takes New York is the first in a new children’s picture book series, Big City Adventures, by Pataki and co-author Marya Myers. The book reading and signing with Allison Pataki is presented by The Foundation for the Yonkers Public Library.

In this city adventure, a young girl learns that the heart of the city is not in the sights or the sounds, but in the people and their sense of community.

An introduction to the magic of New York City, Nelly Takes New York features familiar sites like Central Park, the Empire State Building, the West Village, and the American Museum of Natural History in the most unexpected (and hilarious!) ways.

“Not only are we pleased to welcome such a talented author to the library as she presents her first children’s book,” notes Library Director Ed Falcone, “but Nelly’s adventures tie in so wonderfully with our popular Museum Pass program. Hundreds of families have explored some of the most enriching sites in New York City through this free pass program.”
