Celebrate Yonkers Arts Weekend

In conjunction with Yonkers Arts Weekend, the HRM is hosting its annual Kite Festival, a day of fun inside and out with activities for all ages.

IN TREVOR PARK:
Scavenger Hunt, 12 - 5pm

Test your detective skills in a kite-inspired scavenger hunt. You may win a prize!
Kite Contests, 1:30 - 4pm
Judges Billy Echevarria and Leucio Parrella, members of Kites in Motion kite club, and the American Kiteflyers Association (AKA) award prizes for: 
• Highest Angle Kite (Youth and Adult) 1:30 & 2:30pm
• 50-yard Dash (Kids only) 2 & 4pm
• Most Unusual Kite (Youth and Adult: handmade or purchased) 4:30pm 

INSIDE THE MUSEUM:
Art Workshop, 1 - 4pm
Make kites from newspapers — economical and fun to fly
Science Workshop, 1 - 4pm
See how lenses bend light and create patterns, then make artwork from the patterns you see
  
LEGO Kite Building with Brick U, 1 - 4pm
Build your own colorful mini LEGO Kite with Brick U. A template guides you to create a design for your kite, which joins others to glide through a LEGO-made sky.

Planetarium Shows 12:30, 2, 3:30pm

All Afternoon
Face Painting with Junior Docents
Music by DJ NessDigital, and Superlicious Food Truck NYC will be onsite on Saturday and Sunday.
